Bastet was one of ancient Egypt's most beloved deities -- protector of the home, guardian of women and children, goddess of joy. Her city, Bubastis, held festivals so famous that Herodotus wrote about them. Cats were so sacred to her that harming one was among the gravest offenses in Egypt. Our design honors her in the form Egyptians knew best: the graceful seated black cat, framed in blooming florals.
